Hi Nagaraju, Sorry, I can help you with the FireWire but nothing else. You can get information about your camera at Sony's website (http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=DCRHC36&LOC=3&session_id=a74eeff11d859c0ac98ae9d00c1d40e3#/howtoTab). You will need a FireWire 800 cable that connects to the Sony DV i.link. It will have a 9 pin to a 4 pin connector. You may have to order it online if you do not have a local electronics/computer store. I was able to import my video directly into iMovie. Here is a link from Apple that will help you import video into Final Cut Pro using FireWire (http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=114%26section=3%26tasks=true). I don't have a clue as how to help you with the timeline. I hope this will solve a few of your problems. Good luck with your camera.

You’re amazing! I figured my handycam (same as yours) was going to end up as a boat anchor. Thanks for the information-can’t wait to get my firewire. I didn’t read the manual either. Peace
